Head Golf Professional

Joe Cain

My name is Joe Cain and I grew up just North of Battle Ground, spending many of my childhood days here at The Cedars.  I played 4 years of golf at Battle Ground High School and proceeded to pursue my passion for competition golf at the collegiate level.  I attended Phoenix College in Arizona, where I played and traveled for 2 years while continuing my studies.

After I graduated from Phoenix College, I began my education of the Golf Industry at The Golf Academy of America in Chandler, Arizona.  There, I studied for 2 years achieving certifications in Advanced Teaching, Player Development, as well as Tournament Coordination.  These certifications all cumulatively made up my Degree in Golf Complex Operations.  I am currently an Apprentice in the PGA Professional Golf Management program and working toward my Class-A status.

After graduating from the Golf Academy, I spent 2 years of my professional career working as an Assistant Golf Professional at McDowell Mountain Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. This was a great opportunity to work with highly acclaimed professionals which allowed me to advance my knowledge and skills in the Golf Industry and Teaching.  All of these experiences perfectly prepared me for my next step as the Head Golf Professional here at The Cedars on Salmon Creek.

I moved back to Battle Ground with my wife to be around family and continue to pursue my career. I became the Head Golf Professional here at The Cedars in 2014 and since have taught a countless lessons to a variety of students ages 4 to 75.   I help coach the Battle Ground High School boys and girls golf teams which is one of the most rewarding aspects of my job.

I love the game of golf and the people that surround it.  Golf is a game of sportsmanship, integrity and full of life lessons.  I know that everyone can enjoy the game of golf and I hope to get the chance to help anyone who wants to learn, do just that.
